The Sony Digital Imaging Station (DFWS 77) enables non PC users to take advantage of high quality IEEE-1394 digital camera technology with its sharp low noise advantage
At IPOT 2001, Firstsight demonstrated for the first time in the UK the Sony Digital Imaging Station (DFWS 77).
The unit enables non PC users to take advantage of high quality IEEE-1394 digital camera technology gaining the sharp low noise advantage of digital Firewire technology along with direct camera control and ultra high resolution images up to 1280 x 960 pixel resolution. The unit interfaces to three IEEE-1394 (Firewire) cameras simultaneously and outputs this onto both computer style XVGA monitors and also standard PAL S-video outputs.
Camera control is via the front panel touch sensitive LCD screen and includes integration time, colour balance and gain as well as control of lens focus, zoom and iris available on some of the cameras.
The DFWS 77 also features an Ethernet port and hard disk for saving images as well as a Sony memory stick interface for removable storage of saved images.
The product is ideal in applications such as microscopy where a PC is not desirable but capture and viewing of high-resolution images is needed.
