Two day seminar in Warrington in June considers implications of changes to international law of the sea as they affect the chemical and other industries
Changes to the UK maritime transport regulations will be the focus of the 19th Pira annual update dangerous goods seminar, which takes place on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 June 2003 in Warrington, UK.
In 2004, the IMDG code becomes mandatory in the international law of the sea, and while the effect on the chemical and other industries is likely to be small, certain changes will be felt - notably Competent Authority Approvals may be the subject of different procedures.
Pira's two-day international seminar is an opportunity to hear about these important changes and discuss with leaders in the respective government and industry bodies.
Two workshop sessions will additionally enable those with specific interests to look in detail at the topical issues of limited quantities and security in ports.
Leading companies will be speaking including: Aitchess Services, Andrew Weir Shipping, BMT Murray Fenton, Civil Aviation Authority, Department For Transport, Hutchinson Ports, Health and Safety Executive, Maritime and Coastguard Agency, Ministry of Transport Netherlands, Pira International, Scientifics, WNTI.
