Rugged and low-cost instrument simplifies analysis and increases measurement capabilities for routine applications in life science and industrial laboratories worldwide
PerkinElmer Life and Analytical Sciences has announced the launch of the EZ301 UV/Vis spectrophotometer, a rugged and low-cost instrument that simplifies analysis for routine applications in the life science and industrial markets.
This new system is available now, and will serve as an entry level, multi-functional double-beam spectrophotometer for emerging markets, life science research, and smaller industrial laboratories.
"The EZ301 will provide life science and bio-research laboratories with the opportunity to perform key applications such as DNA purity measurements and protein assays, as well as single wavelength, scanning and kinetics experiments," said Stephen Delity, pharma QA/QC business leader, PerkinElmer Life and Analytical Sciences.
"In addition, new and emerging markets such as Africa, eastern Europe, and Asia will now have access to an affordable, multi-functional UV/Vis system." As the newest member of PerkinElmer's best-selling family of UV/Vis spectrophotometers, the EZ301 combines full functionality with robust, stand-alone operation, an integral full-size screen, and a spill-proof membrane keypad.
Built-in methods can be tailored to specific applications and a wide range of operational modes enables scanning, single-wavelength, multi-wavelength and kinetics methods.
Data and calibrations can be stored either on board, or using a USB (Universal Serial Bus) plug-in pocket drive for fast additional data storage, retrieval and transfer to PC. Auto-start methods provide instant analysis, and a suite of sampling accessories provides automation, temperature-control, and multi-sample measurement.
A simple, robust optical design ensures accurate, reliable results, and a range of IPV (Instrument Performance Verification) tests and system diagnostics ensures consistent, in-specification operation and compliance with GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) guidelines.
