John Murphy, Robert Friel and John Roush assume broader roles, building management depth and strengthening company's focus on growth
PerkinElmer has announced three key management promotions, effective immediately, to its senior executive team, designed to build management depth and accelerate its growth strategy.
John Murphy has been named executive vice president and chief operating officer of PerkinElmer.
Murphy is a proven global leader and has served as president of the optoelectronics business since joining PerkinElmer in 2001.
In this newly created position, he will oversee the company's activities in improving operational efficiencies with particular emphasis on the supply chain, Six Sigma quality and customer excellence.
In addition, he will oversee the company's strategy to expand medical imaging applications across the health sciences markets and lead the company's China growth strategy.
Robert Friel assumes the role of executive vice president, chief financial officer and business development.
Friel has served as the chief financial officer since 1999.
In addition to this role, he will now direct the company's business development activities focusing on strategic growth opportunities in health sciences and select advanced technologies.
John Roush is appointed president of the company's optoelectronics business.
He joined PerkinElmer in 1999 as general manager of two business units within optoelectronics, and has most recently served as the vice president of product management and global sales and customer operations for optoelectronics.
