A new range of trace level TOC (total organic carbon) analysers is launched for applications requiring parts per billion (ppb) measurement of ultra-pure water
All instruments in Pollution and Process Monitoring's new Protoc trace level (TL) range offer continuous, on-line monitoring in the range of 0-500ppb with a resolution of 5ppb up to 0-5ppm.
The Protoc 100TL analyser, competitively priced at just over £10,000, offers single stream monitoring with 4-20Ma high and low alarm outputs.
Typical response time is two or three minutes.
The 200TL offers the same features, but with the additional benefit of auto-calibration instead of manual calibration and trend graphics on a large LCD.
For applications requiring multi-channel monitoring, Protoc TL is fully programmable and capable of multiplexing up to six streams (individual outputs), while offering full autocalibration. Response time is also two minutes.
For larger applications where multi-point on-line monitoring is desirable, the Protoc Spyder TL and Web system offers a powerful and economic solution.
One Spyder unit can control and monitor up to eight Web analyser units from a central control point.
Each Web analyser can multiplex up to two streams, or offer economical 100% single stream continuous monitoring, while the new Spyder can be interfaced with a PC or on-site Scada system.
Additional inputs for conductivity, resistivity, and temperature may also be integrated into any instrument in the range.
PPM says that its expects particular interest in the range from pharmaceutical companies, for process monitoring of DI water under the USP regulations.
It also anticipates significant interest from the semi-conductor industry, where organic contamination of DI water can affect the quality of electronic components being manufactured.
The analysers are also suited for the monitoring of condensate return and for use in any application where ultra pure water monitoring and analysis is required.
