Rapidly isolates the highest purity plasmid DNA for transfection studies or other sensitive molecular biology techniques
Promega's new Wizard MagneSil Tfx system rapidly isolates the highest purity plasmid DNA for transfection studies or other sensitive molecular biology techniques.
Ideal for industrial and academic laboratories that need a simple, reliable and cost effective method for purifying transfection grade DNA, the MagneSil Tfx has been designed for use in a multi-well format (8 - 96 samples).
No centrifugation or vacuum steps are required making the system highly amenable to full automation.
Quick and simple to use, a 96-well plate can be processed in just 45 minutes with a Beckman Biomek FX robotic workstation - so maximising throughput and saving users time and money.
The protocol can also be easily adapted to suit other robotic systems, if required.
The Wizard MagneSil Tfx system uses alkaline-SDS lysis to generate the bacterial lysate and incorporates MagneSil paramagnetic particles for both lysate clearing and plasmid purification.
The system also includes Promega's Endotoxin Removal Resin, which reduces the levels of contaminants such as chemical salts, RNA, protein and endotoxin, all of which can decrease DNA transfection efficiencies.
The procedure is carried out in just seven simple steps, and does not require any manual intervention once an automatic protocol has been initiated.
The use of Promega's Endotoxin Removal Resin cuts endotoxin carry-over by 95% over standard sequencing-grade automated plasmid systems, producing high purity plasmid DNA that can be reliably used to transfect a variety of mammalian cell lines.
