True walkaway operation with no need to monitor progress or add additional reagents, leading to a 96 well microplate being processed in as little as 60 minutes
Rapid and fully automated isolation of high purity mRNA is now possible with the new PolyATtract automated system from Promega. Through the automation of tried and tested methodology, improved consistency in purification is possible.
Many different starting materials can be used.
Linear recovery of poly(A)+ RNA is possible from 0.3-20µg of eukaryotic total RNA.
Alternatively, 0.02-5.0mg of eukaryotic tissue or 102-106 of cultured mammalian cells can be used.
A 96 well microplate can be processed in approximately 60 minutes, depending on the robot platform in use. Protocols have been developed for the Biomek 2000 and Biomek FX robots and the method is readily adaptable for other platforms. Unlike some high throughput assays, true walkaway operation is possible; with no need to monitor progress or add additional reagents.
The PolyATtract automated system uses Promega's established MagneSphere paramagnetic particle technology for quick and efficient magnetic separation.
High confidence can be placed in purity and yield since the system retains the expression profile from total RNA, removes greater than 99% of ribosomal RNA and has no detectable well-to-well cross-contamination.
Sufficient reagents are provided to process four 96 well microplates.
