Further Certified Profibus Installer courses, limited to eight participants each, will be held in Manchester in April, June, August, and September
With the increase in demand for certified fieldbus installers, Profibus UK has announced a complete series of Certified Profibus Installer courses to be presented at the Profibus Competence Centre at Manchester Metropolitan University.
The new dates are in April, June, August and September.
The course was introduced because most fieldbus system problems arise as a result of failure to observe elementary electrical disciplines in the installation process.
Recognising that this is a serious problem affecting not just Profibus but other fieldbuses too, Profibus UK's courses help electrical engineers and plant technicians understand the techniques needed for successful fieldbus installation.
Already some 24 installers have attended the courses, which are limited to 8 places each due to the intense, hands-on nature of the tuition.
The one-day course teaches the design, installation and testing of complete Profibus networks including DP/FMS, PA, and optical fibre technology.
Covering bus layout and termination, grounding rules and practices, the course will teach delegates how to avoid common, but potentially expensive, installation problems.
The course provides theoretical and practical training in Profibus network technology using a hands-on approach.
The course finishes with multiple-choice and practical tests that ensure the competence of the trainees. Successful candidates will be awarded Certified Profibus Installer status.
Places are limited, and interested persons are advised to call Profibus UK or register on-line to secure their place.
