Comprehensive information pack aims to help GPs and practice nurses keep apace with the opportunities available to them for accurate diagnosis to support patient management
The UK already has the highest prevalence of allergy in the world and, with figures still increasing, allergy specialist clinics throughout the UK are finding it hard to cope.
The National Allergy Strategy Group has made several recommendations, including improvements in education for GPs.
With this in mind, Pharmacia Diagnostics is launching a comprehensive information pack entitled 'Putting results into practice' at the NAPC annual conference and exhibition in Manchester.
The pack aims to help GPs and practice nurses keep apace with the opportunities available to them for accurate diagnosis to support patient management.
It includes information on all aspects of allergy, from requesting blood tests to interpreting results. General manager of Pharmacia Diagnostics, Robin Turner, said: "Pharmacia Diagnostics provides over 450 specific allergen tests to support diagnosis, and 75% of allergy testing worldwide is performed on our instruments.
Through initiatives like 'Putting results into practice', we aim to encourage greater understanding of comprehensive allergy testing and diagnosis in primary care."
