Software allows specialists to rapidly and reliably obtain objective quantitative data on immunoglobulin concentrations while diagnosing diseases and determining the immune status
Smart Imaging Technologies announces the release of Simagis single radial immunodiffusion software.
Simagis SRID allows specialists to rapidly and reliably obtain objective quantitative data on immunoglobulin concentrations while diagnosing diseases and determining the immune status.
This automated software employs a simple and reliable method of estimating the concentration of immunoglobulines IgA, IgG, IgM in the serum and the biological liquids - single radial immunodiffusion (SRID), using Manchini method.
The method is based on precipitation of the products from reacting with its specific antibodies in a thin agarose layer.
The precipitin ring diameter is proportional to the logarithm of the immunoglobulin concentration in the tested samples.
The measurements of the precipitate diameters are used to determine the actual concentrations based on standardised calibration curve.
Simagis SRID offers an original mathematical algorithm for the determination of the immunoglobulin concentrations via automatic recognition and measurements of precipitin rings in the image of SRD assay slide.
It can handle SRD plates of various shape and size, with any number of wells for analysis.
The solution allows analysis of images with different quality and contrast.
Simagis SRID includes automatic localisation and numbering of wells in the initial image of the SRD assay slide; automatic identification of well boundaries; automatic diameter measurement of the precipitin rings; identification of empty wells in the image.
It builds standardised calibration curves, generates the report with the immunoglobuline concentrations measurement results and exports the resultant data to MS Excel.
