With heightened awareness of hospital super bugs, validating that items as diverse are washed at high enough temperatures, for sufficient time, is vitally important
Signatrol is introducing its innovative SL130 temperature data logger for use directly in washing machines and sterilisers.
The self-contained SL130 has been primarily developed for hospitals, but can be used in any commercial or domestic washing machine, steriliser or autoclave.
The SL130 has an operational temperature range from -30 to +140C and the data logger electronics and battery are housed in a robust PTFE cylindrical casing providing sealing to IP68.
The perforated end of the casing protects the external stainless steel sensor, whilst still allowing a minimum response time of around four seconds.
Set-up and download of data is carried out using a PC running Signatrol's proprietary Tempit Lite software via the infra red base station.
The use of infra red technology removes the need for troublesome external plugs or sockets on the data logger.
Logging intervals between two seconds and 24 hours can be programmed and readings are stored to the internal memory, which has a maximum capacity of over 8000 readings.
Once downloaded, data are stored in secure format, protected from manipulation, and can be displayed in graphical form and printed out.
Tempit Pro software is also available as an upgrade, which provides a data table mode enabling data to be exported to spreadsheets and emailed to remote sites.
In addition, Tempit Pro automatically calculates mean kinetic temperature (MKT).
A high security version (Tempit-HS) is also available which is validatable to FDA CFR21 Part 11.
The unit also features programmable hi-lo time/temperature alarms and storage capability for owner and user manifest details.
The SL130 is part of Signatrol's extensive range of data loggers and instrumentation.
