Contract manufacturer for company focused on commercialising breakthrough chemical sensor chips and systems begins shipping products
Sionex, a high technology company focused on commercialising breakthrough chemical sensor chips and systems based on its proprietary microDMx detection technology, reports that its contract manufacturing service provider, IEC Electronic, has begun shipping microDMx-based products to Sionex partners.
IEC was selected by Sionex to manufacture all of Sionex's commercial products.
"Having IEC as our manufacturing service provider brings to Sionex the ability to quickly and easily scale up our manufacturing process to satisfy our partners growth requirements," said Brian Quirk, Sionex's VP of manufacturing".
"We are pleased to have been chosen by Sionex as their manufacturing service provider to bring their patented microDMx technology to the marketplace," said Barry Gilbert, IEC's CEO and chairman, "and we have the capabilities and capacity to meet Sionex's future projected product growth".
Sionex has signed various commercial agreements, with the first product release using microDMx technology coming from Varian and announced in March, 2004.
The company says it anticipates adding a number of new agreements with major vendors, to be announced soon.
Through these agreements Sionex will provide enabling breakthrough technology to various organisations selling their products into military, homeland security, industrial, diagnostic, healthcare, food and beverage and consumer markets.
