A high-pressure vent option now available for the Servomex 2200 process oxygen analyser has made possible simple and reliable systems for returning sample gases to a process at elevated pressure.
Earlier, more complex, systems to make this possible included a number of pumps and flow andpressure regulation devices, which made the systems expensive and inherently subject to unreliability.
The new approach is an effective solution to the problem in high-pressure processes of not being able to vent sample gases to the atmosphere for environmental or economic reasons.
The high-pressure vent option includes a specially adapted and tested paramagnetic cell and optional pressure compensation, and is suitable forpressures up to 310kPa (45psia/30psig) with O2 concentrations up to 21%.
This system has Atex Category 2 approval.
By using a Servomex 2200 analyser set up for high vent pressures it becomes possible to use a sample conditioning package that is much simpler to operate and maintain than older designs.
It is also possible to analyse the oxygen content of gas from a compressor outlet, where the vent gas is returned to the inlet at a lower pressure without the use of a back-pressure regulator.
The gas pressure in the 2200 analyser cell is monitored with great precision and the analyser's readings are constantly corrected to ensure accurate readings. This is very important when the pressure on the vent of the analyser can vary due to fluctuating process pressure.
Up to six transmitters.
The Servomex 2200 analyser consists of a paramagnetic oxygen measurement transmitter and a separate microprocessor-based control unit capable of accepting inputs from up to six transmitters for a wide range of oxidation control and other process oxygen measurement requirements.
The 2200 provides digital data communications to mainframe production control computers and offers all the key features needed by current and projected process plant technology.
The 2200 analyser also provides the benefit of separate stand-alone hazardous area transmitters, which are locally powered to ensure continued operation and are linked using single twisted pair cables to one or moreremote control units.
The control units have digital communications, full auto-calibration and validation facilities and a user-friendly multi-language user interface.
The transmitters have a single 4-20mA intrinsically safe output, two 4-20mA inputs for cross-interference and external pressure compensation, three status relay contacts and two flow sensor inputs.
