Increased productivity with high-throughput DNA screening promised by Syngene for its new version of GeneTools, because of its multi-layer gel analysis capability
Syngene has announced that its new GeneTools version 3.1 image analysis software includes a unique automated multi-layer gel analysis capability, designed to save time and laboratory resources when screening large numbers of DNA samples.
GeneTools 3.1 will particularly benefit users such as clinical or plant geneticists who are screening different DNA samples and markers on a gel, which have several rows of wells in one gel.
This is because the software automatically analyses each row as if it were a separate gel and means that geneticists can save time and money by obtaining results from several small gels using one large gel and a single electrophoresis run.
GeneTools 3.1 comes as standard with both Syngene's ChemiGenius and GeneGenius image analysis range and can be used for many applications, including 1D gel and spot blot analysis, as well as colony counting.
Current and new GeneTools users alike can enjoy the benefits of this and any subsequent versions of the software because Syngene provides all upgrades free of charge.
Paul Ellwood, Syngene's divisional manager, commented: "The exciting new multi-layer gel analysis feature of GeneTools 3.1 makes this powerful software an excellent choice for any laboratory.
It will especially benefit those that have a restricted budget yet still need to screen a large number of DNA samples accurately and quickly."
