Supplier of lab automation robotics, software and equipment to the drug-discovery market joins the ever-growing Thermo group
Thermo Electron announces that it has completed the acquisition of CRS Robotics, a supplier of lab automation robotics, software and equipment to the drug-discovery market.
"This acquisition of CRS Robotics marks an important next step toward our goal of becoming the world's leading provider of complete, sample-in, knowledge-out systems for drug discovery customers,' said Richard Syron, chairman and chief executive officer of Thermo Electron.
"We already have a very strong portfolio of key technologies that help speed the drug-discovery process - from sample preparation and analysis to laboratory information management systems that help researchers manage the vast amounts of data and turn them into knowledge they can use. But in today's competitive drug-discovery marketplace, where high throughput, ease-of-use, and greater efficiency is the name of the game, our customers are demanding the integrated systems that CRS will help us deliver," Syron continued.
"We are delighted to have the opportunity to integrate the capabilities and talent of CRS into the 'One Thermo' Family."
