Katy joins Ultrasonic Scientific with a PhD from UCD (University College Dublin, Ireland).
Katy joins Ultrasonic Scientific's growing team of specialists in ultrasonics technology - the largest investment in specialist-staff of this field anywhere in the world.
A background in chemistry, and specialisation in food colloids means that Katy delivers not only technical and product expertise to Ultrasonic's customers, but also an in-depth understanding of their industry-specific applications. Katy's knowledge of how high-resolution ultrasonic spectroscopy can be applied to the unique analysis and characterisation of different colloidal systems is world-class. The product specialist role gives customers a first port of call for application-specific advice, as well as offering sales and customer support.
Katy, who was originally born in Surrey but who lives in Dublin, Ireland, explains "I have a degree in agricultural science (food science) from the Agricultural Science department in University College Dublin and a PhD from the chemistry department.
My PhD studies concentrated on the analysis and characterisation of food colloids using ultrasonic spectroscopy.
The research work targeted structural and thermodynamic transition measurements in biological tissues, casein micelles and different food products.
