New measuring stations add speed and versatility to PC-based measurement system, and have USB and ethernet communication facilities built in
Yokogawa has added two new high-performance measuring stations which enhance the speed and ease of use of its WE7000 series PC-based measurement system.
The new WE500 and WE900 are five-slot and nine-slot mounting units for the WE7000 measurement modules.
Each consists of a case, power supply and CPU based on a 32-bit 150MHz Risc processor.
USB and ethernet communication facilities are built in, making the use of a separate communication module unnecessary.
The units are capable of identifying installed modules and controlling communication between the modules and the PC.
In addition, measurement modules within the units can exchange trigger and timebase signals with external equipment.
The plug and play capabilities provided by the USB interface means that there is no need to set communication parameters between the PC and the measuring station.
In addition, the built-in ethernet interface removes the need for a separate communication module.
Other features include external synchronisation terminals, voice memo and web monitor functions and graphic display of instantaneous values.
Software tools allow the system to be used in automated test applications such as go/no-go assessments in manufacturing without the need for a PC.
The faster data processing resulting from the high-speed CPU and the internal computing power means that it is no longer necessary to rely on the PC to carry out data processing.
The Yokogawa WE7000 series is a PC-based modular measurement system that can carry out measurements at up to 1GS/s on up to 270 channels.
Key features include traceability, simultaneous multi-channel sampling and high-voltage isolated inputs (up to 350V RMS).
