Laser diode specialist moves to larger premises to meet growing demand for its range of custom designed optoelectronic components
Photonic Products expands and moves on Photonic Products, a laser diode specialist, has moved to larger premises in Hertfordshire, UK.
Launched in 1995, Photonic Products has seen its turnover increase by 226% and its workforce trebled since 2001.
The company says its success is fuelled by the growing demand for its range of custom designed optoelectronic components, which deliver performance and manufacturing efficiencies to OEM manufacturers.
The new headquarters, with an area of 1242 square metres, is a high specification, light industrial unit with a large production area, workshops, warehousing and high tech offices, and gives plenty of room for further growth.
It is convenient for the M11 motorway and London Stansted Airport and close to the ancient woodlands of Hatfield Forest, mentioned by name in the Domesday Book.
Photonic Products ended 2004 with a financial milestone, having shipped goods worth over £1m in the last quarter.
Over 80% of sales were exported.
A significant portion of these shipments were to Photonic Products's growing customer base in the USA and Canada, home to some of the world's leading OEM manufacturers of optoelectronic equipment including medical, biomedical, industrial and military.
"2004 was an exceptional year for Photonic Products , as we expanded our product line, captured significant market share in key areas, and expanded our operations as a global company with a greater emphasis on the North American region", said Tony Pope, managing director.
"We're really pleased with the progress that we've made over the last three years and the new facility marks the next stage in our growth.
"We're looking forward to 2005 with the flexibility for further expansion."
