Moisture exchangers for medical applications involving breath samples such as anaesthesia monitoring, capnography, neonatal monitoring, metabolic and asthma testing, respiratory and veterinary care
Perma Pure says its ME series moisture exchangers are ideal for removing water vapour from breath samples in medical applications.
The antibacterial Nafion membrane tubing is simply connected in the sample line and protects gas monitoring equipment from clogging and corrosion, and the sample line from water build up.
ME series moisture exchangers are suitable for all medical applications involving breath samples such as anaesthesia monitoring, capnography, neonatal monitoring, metabolic testing, asthma testing, respiratory care and veterinary care.
Self-regenerating, long lasting and with no moving parts, they dry continuously without removing analyte gases, slowing response time of analysers, or causing pressure drops.
Unlike devices that remove only liquid water, leaving the sample saturated with water vapour, ME series moisture exchangers use Nafion membrane tubing technology to transfer water vapour from the wet gas stream into the surrounding atmosphere, creating equilibrium with the room humidity.
Basically lengths of tubing with very low dead volume, they cause no drops in pressure, unlike filters which have pressure resistance and which can clog up.
There is no requirement for a chamber to fill before the gas proceeds to the analyser so they do not impede the response time of the breath analyser.
In addition, unlike traps and filters, they do not have to be monitored regularly and replaced frequently.
ME series moisture exchangers are available exclusively from Perma Pure and its distributors.
