Malvern Instruments continues the expansion of its rheology team with the appointment of Fred Mazzeo to the position of product manager.
Fred Mazzeo joins Malvern from TA Instruments where he was senior applications scientist.
He will be based at Malvern Instruments in Southborough, MA.
His primary responsibility will be to provide expertise to aid in technical sales and applications support to Malvern rheology customers in the Americas.
Dr Mazzeo has strong academic credentials with BSc and MS degrees in ceramic engineering and materials science, and a PhD focusing on extrusion rheology of fine particulate ceramic systems.
Throughout his career he has gained knowledge in other areas of rheology, including polymeric systems, adhesives, and pharmaceuticals.
He has extensive experience not only in rheological characterisation, but also with a wide range of analytical techniques, including colloidal characterisation methods encompassing particle size and shape analysis for micron, submicron and nanoscale materials.
Since the acquisition of Bohlin Instruments in November 2003, Malvern has been committed to extending and further strengthening technical and applications support for its rheology customers throughout the world.
Mazzeo's appointment is part of that ongoing process and indicative of Malvern's continuing investment in serving the rheology market.
