Can analyse emulsions and suspensions, providing a valuable tool for R and D and QA/QC in the pharmaceutical, food and beverage, cosmetics, personal care and other industries
Ultrasonic Scientific says its new instrument, the Colloid Stability Analyser, is the first of its kind as it is the only ultrasonic analyser of sedimentation stability, bringing the unique benefits of ultrasound to this field.
The HR-US Colloid Stability Analyser can analyse emulsions and suspensions, providing a valuable tool for R and D and process development scientists and QA/QC analysts in the pharmaceutical, food and beverage, cosmetics, personal care and other industries.
Unlike traditional techniques, Ultrasonic Scientific's Colloid Stability Analyser provides precise quantitative measurements, allowing accurate information to be gathered on average particle size, particle concentration and rate of sedimentation/creaming and assessing degree of flocculation/aggregation in suspensions.
This analyser is said to be unique in its field, as it can be pressurised up to ten bars, allowing analysis of liquids with low boiling points and liquids at high temperatures (above boiling point).
Users benefit from the Colloid Stability Analyser's ability to perform non-destructive and small sample analysis.
In addition, this new HR-US instrument enables the analysis of opaque materials and provides data processing algorithms.
Ultrasonic spectroscopy is a non-destructive technique that is based on precision measurements of parameters of high-frequency sound waves propagating through analysed samples.
These waves propagate through most materials including opaque samples (down to a volume of 0.03ml) and allow direct probing of intermolecular forces.
Through its HR-US series, Ultrasonic Scientific has made commercial ultrasonic instruments available for a wide spectrum of analytical tasks in a variety of industries including biotech, pharmaceutical, food, chemical and polymer.
