Use of two digital cameras as an adaptive measuring unit improves and optimises particle analysis by digital image processing
The patented measuring setup of the Camsizer - two digital cameras as an adaptive measuring unit - improves and optimises particle analysis by digital image processing, says Retsch.
Thus, it is possible to measure a wide range of particles from 30um to 30mm extremely accurately, without having to switch measuring ranges or make adjustments.
The sample is fed in from the feed channel so that all particles fall through the measurement field.
The new LongLife light source of the Camsizer ensures an extremely long working life of the illumination unit.
After each measurement the intensity is reduced and the light source switched to the standby mode.
When a new measurement starts the light is automatically activated.
An optional automatic height adjustment of the filling hopper guarantees correct feeding of the sample and eliminates manual working steps.
Thus, the Camsizer provides measuring results with excellent repeatability and reproducibility.
This feature is extremely useful for the use of Camsizer together with AutoSampler for automatic sample feeding as well as for the Camsizer lab version when materials with different size distributions (fine, medium, coarse) have to be measured.
The advanced Camsizer software now allows for an even easier and more reliable adjustment of the measurement results to those of the sieve analysis.
This facilitates the switch to the quicker and more meaningful results of the Camsizer without having to change the product specifications based on the sieve analysis.
With the new product videos of Camsizer and AutoSampler, Retsch Technology offers potential buyers all over the world the possibility to have first-hand information about optical particle analysis conveniently presented on their computer screen.
The videos can be downloaded or a CD-Rom can be ordered by email.
