An international panel of judges made its selections based on criteria including design quality, usability and innovation
Agilent Technologies's 5100 automated Lab-on-a-Chip platform has been awarded a 2005 iF Gold Award, a prestigious international award for industrial product design.
Agilent was one of 50 Gold Award winners chosen from more than 2200 entries in 12 categories.
An international panel of judges made its selections based on criteria including design quality, usability and innovation.
Ergonomic and ecological aspects of each product were also considered.
Past winners include the Apple iPod.
"We are honoured to receive this distinction, which is highly regarded in the design world," said Raoul Dinter, industrial design manager for Agilent's life sciences and chemical analysis business.
"The award recognises Agilent's consistently high quality of industrial design, which synthesises state-of-the-art usability and long-lasting aesthetics".
The award was presented in Hannover, Germany, at CeBit, the world's leading trade show for information technology, telecommunications and software manufacturers.
