Niton product line brings state-of-the-art technology in handheld energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) which complements Thermo's benchtop EDXRF system
Thermo Electron has purchased Niton, a provider of portable X-ray systems for metals, petrochemical and environmental markets.
Marijn E Dekkers, president and chief executive officer of Thermo, said: "The addition of Niton is a continuation of our efforts to better serve the emerging needs of our customers.
"Niton helps Thermo bring a traditional laboratory-based analytical technique to settings outside the laboratory".
Niton EDXRF offers rapid, high performance, non-destructive testing for a range of applications including identification and analysis of metal and precious metal alloys, determination of toxic metals in plastics and environmental samples, lead paint screening and risk assessment, mineral exploration and mining, and coatings/plating analysis.
The Niton product line brings state-of-the-art technology in handheld energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) which complements Thermo's benchtop EDXRF system.
It is also the natural extension of the lab-based wavelength dispersive XRF solutions also available from Thermo.
