HPLC software interfaces with chromatography data system for ultimate ease-of-use in chromatography data management and support the use of light scattering technologies in regulated industries
Wyatt Technology's HPLC software system, Astra V, now interfaces with Waters's Empower chromatography data software system.
By incorporating Astra V capabilities with Empower, Wyatt says it now offers the ultimate ease-of-use in chromatography data management.
The use of light scattering technologies in regulated industries is also now facilitated with the 21 CFR Part-11 compliant Astra software.
The Astra V software complements Wyatt's multi-angle light scattering detectors to make absolute molecular weight determinations a desirable alternative to traditional liquid chromatography methods.
The 21 CFR Part 11-compliant software has become the industry standard for light scattering, says Wyatt.
By making it compatible with Empower chromatography data software system, it is now possible to acquire data using either system and control a variety of instruments including HPLC and light scattering technologies in FDA regulated industries.
Astra V's compatibility with Empower is described as another step towards making Wyatt's software system vendor-independent and fully interoperable with a range of chromatography systems and software.
This offers users of other software packages the full collection and analysis capabilities of the Astra system.
Astra V boasts the scientific foundation and depth of features that no other package can match, Wyatt says.
It can be used for both on-line HPLC measurements as well as off-line batch measurements.
The software has the ability to create sophisticated differential distributions for analysis of data and is also capable of correcting the deleterious effects of interdetector band broadening.
Astra V also supports data collection and analysis for absolute molecular weight and size determination from the Dawn EOS and miniDawn Tristar Mals instruments.
It supports Qels data collection and analysis from the WyattQels (quasi elastic light scattering) instrument.
It supports concentration measurements from the Optilab Rex and other refractometers, and determination of intrinsic viscosity from the Wyatt ViscoStar differential viscometer.
Astra V builds on the success of the Astra series and includes networked instrument communication, database storage, and powerful new collection paradigms such as completely configurable sample sets and support for high throughput experiments.
New analysis capabilities such as proprietary band broadening corrections, absolute number density determinations, and global fitting for online and batch Zimm plots unlock insights into sample data that have never been seen before.
