Relative and absolute viscosity can be determined and the data units can be changed from SI to CGS as required
Metrohm UK has launched a range of rotational viscometers which it says are easy to use and extremely precise.
The Visco Basic is the entry-level instrument with three versions for differing measuring ranges: Basic Plus L for 20 to 2,000,000Cp; Basic Plus R for 100 to 13,000,000Cp; and Basic Plus H for 3.2 to 1,060,000 Poise.
The control panel has a illuminated LCD readout for selected speed, selected spindle, viscosity reading and % of full scale.
Relative and absolute viscosity can be determined and the data units can be changed from SI to CGS as required.
The viscometer has 18 fixed speeds from 0.3 to 100rpm.
The Visco Plus carries out an auto-test with acoustic and visual alarms in case of any malfunctions.
Other features include sound alarms when working under 15% of full scale, and auto-ranging functions.
All the spindles are manufactured in AISI stainless steel and identified by the appropriate number and letter, and are easily interchangeable for working on a wide range of different viscosities.
The design of the standard spindles and the measurement principle are as described in ISO2555 and ISO1652
