Relational database system improves the efficiency of internal data administration relating to customers, processes, storage, and shipment of materials
Antibodies by Design has announced the conclusion of an extensive software project designed to allow increased antibody generation throughput via automated management of parallel projects.
This new relational database system improves the efficiency of internal data administration relating to customers, processes, storage, and shipment of materials.
It includes establishment of a barcode system supporting the PSA (panning and screening automation) software and is part of an ongoing comprehensive automation programme by Antibodies by Design to increase the efficiency and speed of high-throughput antibody generation.
The project was completed in collaboration with Bjorn Kesper, IT Consulting.
"This new PSA software allows the complete mapping and secure administration of all our production processes.
"This starts with tracking the incoming orders and covers everything from the production of antigens and antibodies through to the distribution of unique antibodies to the customer", explained Achim Knappik, senior director of R and D at Antibodies by Design.
"The system perfectly fits our needs for management of our high-throughput antibody generation processes and can be expanded at any time due to its modular nature.
"We are confident that this and other planned improvements will allow us to increase high-throughput antibody production while maintaining consistently high standards".
"This software allows us to support our customers even more efficiently by providing the essential antibody tools for their research projects faster and more reliably than before", commented Dieter Lingelbach, general manager of Antibodies by Design and senior vice president of parent company MorphoSys.
