The Hitachi Z-2000 family of atomic absorption spectrophotometers from Lambda Advanced Technology has been designed to meet the most demanding requirements for performance, ease of use, productivity and flexibility.
The instrument is available in tandem, or flame-only or furnace-only versions.
The Z-2000 series utilises the well proven DC polarised Zeeman background detection method which gives excellent analytical results.
This is a true double beam method and the introduction of dual photomultiplier detectors results in lower noise and improved long and short term stability both for flame and furnace applications.
The reduced noise levels also leads to an improved detection limit of of 0.1ppb for As using the furnace method.
Ease of use and speed of analysis are also important factors.
The Z-2000 has a short start-up time since the atomisers are always in place and aligned, and the Zeeman correction compensates for lamp drift during warm-up.
Since in the tandem system both atomisers are permanently in the optical path, a simple click of the mouse allows the instrument to be switched from one mode to the other.
