Chiltern International has announced that Bridget Smith has joined its expanding US business development team
Bridget Smith's role will be to work with clients throughout the south east USA.
Smith has more than 14 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry in product sales, marketing, small business ownership, and wholesale distribution.
She started with Glaxo in its government affairs department, before progressing into sales and then joining Novartis in a similar role.
She has also worked for Cumberland Pharmacal, which distributes wholesale medical supplies and pharmaceuticals across the USA.
"The different roles I have had have given me an insight into diverse issues such as the impact of legislation on the industry and the cost of bringing a molecule to market", she commented.
"What attracted me to Chiltern was its potential for global growth in the current operating environment and the strong team behind it.
"The industry in consistently being scrutinised.
"Bringing a molecule to market takes many years, and a great deal of research and dollars.
"Chiltern will help to streamline this process.
"Each day that a product stalls in the approval process, essentially means that patients are one step further from new drugs that could help them.
"I look forward to being part of a process that helps to bring exciting live-saving drugs to the global market."
