Niels Fertig wins 2005 NanoScience prize of the HanseNanoTec for his work on a chip-based measuring system for ion channels
Niels Fertig, CEO of Nanion Technologies (Munich), has won the 2005 NanoScience prize of the HanseNanoTec (Hamburg Competence Centre for Nanotechnology) for his work on a chip-based measuring system for ion channels.
Nanion Technologies developed a biochip that enables patch clamp recordings in an automated and parallel format.
The prize was awarded on October 20 in Hamburg.
In the last two years Nanion Technologies says it has very successfully commercialised its first product, the Port-a-Patch.
With the NPC-16s Nanion will introduce higher throughput workstations early next year.
