Injection cycle time is often overlooked; this autosampler has been designed with an injection cycle time of only ten seconds for 10ul, offering a time saving of 20 seconds per injection
Shimadzu Scientific Instruments has published a poster, 'Reduction of Analysis Times Using a High-Speed Autosampler'.
This poster examines the performance of the new SIL-20A/C high-speed injector and its utilisation in addressing the increasing need to reduce LC analysis times to provide quicker results about a sample's purity.
The injection cycle time is an often overlooked item in reducing analysis times.
In response, the SIL-20A/C has been designed with an injection cycle time of only ten seconds for a 10ul injection.
This speed offers a time saving of 20 seconds per injection compared to a standard autosampler's 30-second injection cycle time.
In addition to increased lab and worker productivity, benefits also include reduced cost of solvent purchases and disposal.
Additional features of the SIL-20A/C include a needle-in-the-flow path design with no sample loss on injection; 100ul loop standard with 6nl/step pump resolution and optional 500ul and 2ml loops; and <0.3% injection RSD (10ul).
A newly designed injection port and needle tip with patented coating technology virtually eliminates sample carryover.
With this performance, and additional high-throughput options, high-speed injections can now be performed with results that typically exceed existing autosampler technology, it says.
