New instruments from Malvern's particle characterisation and rheology ranges will make their Pittcon debuts at the 2006 show - including the Morphologi G2, the Bohlin Gemini HR and the new Spraytec
Morphologi G2 is a high sensitivity particle image analyser that incorporates the latest Nikon CFI60 optics and a high resolution digital camera to deliver particle size and shape data and images.
Based on digital image analysis and automated microscopy, it measures particle size across a wide range from 0.5 to 1000 microns using circle equivalent diameter, and employs a variety of parameters for particle shape analysis.
This allows determination and quantification of even subtle differences between particles.
Malvern will also display the Sysmex FPIA-3000 flow cytometry-based particle size and shape analyser, which was launched at Pittcon 2005.
The Bohlin Gemini HR nano is a new rheometer optimised for the control of ultra-low torques, opening up new opportunities to probe weak or sensitive material structures and low viscosity systems.
Like all previous Bohlin high resolution rheometers, it offers advanced technology with straightforward operation.
While enabling the measurement and control of nano-torque levels, it retains a continuous working torque range to 200mNm allowing complete rheological characterisation.
Like its ground-breaking predecessor, the new Spraytec system for particle size analysis of aerosols and sprays delivers fully automated in situ analysis of high concentration aerosols and sprays from a robust platform.
However, it has a data acquisition rate four time faster, covers more than double the size range, is driven by standard operating procedures that allow single click operation, and has a sleek new look.
Malvern's flagship Mastersizer and Zetasizer systems will also be on display, and members of the Malvern team will be on hand to discuss materials characterisation issues.
