All Reichert refractometers are extremely accurate and simple to operate, says YSI (UK) which currently has a special promotion on the latest models - the ri300 benchtop and the AR200 handheld
In the food and beverage industry, sugar/sweetener (Brix) content is often the critical and most expensive component of many of the products, and maintaining the proper concentration during the quality control process ensures quality and reduces costs.
Food and beverage samples are often highly coloured, and even opaque, and liquid sugars are often quite thick or viscous.
Certain samples can have undissolved material such as pulp, which can affect the reading by blocking light during manual measurement.
However, the Reichert automatic digital refractometers are not affected by sample colour or opacity, as they are reflected light refractometers, utilising the light that is reflected by the sample.
Also as an electronic detector is used to take the measurement, there is less operator error.
All of the Reichert automatic digital refractometers have automatic temperature compensation to 20C.
Reichert is the recognised leader for innovative, state-of-the-art analytical instruments and has created almost every technologic breakthrough in refractometry over the past 150 years.
