The Mobir M4 camera from Armstrong Optical is a hand-held instrument of a similar size and shape to a mobile telephone, weighing-in at less than 300gm.
It comes complete with a thermal imaging camera, a visible imaging camera, a laser locator and thermal- and visible-channel displays, allowing easy identification of thermal features.
The Mobir M4 has already shown itself to be ideal for applications such as energy management and building surveys, analysis of storage/reactor tank levels and insulation, pipe blockage, motor and pump bearings, overheating electrical switchgear, transformers, bus-bars and power lines, medical/veterinary thermography plus many, many more.
On-board software functions - accessed via a set of thumb-operated keys - allow temperature measurements with sensitivity of about 0.1C.
Object emissivity, single and multiple point temperatures, isotherms, max/min and electronic zoom are all standard functions ensuring comprehensive probing for, and pinpointing of, potential thermal variations.
Now, in order to make the Mobir M4 an even more flexible and useful measurement tool, Armstrong Optical has made available a range of accessories.
The standard lens on the Mobir M4 has a 25degx19deg field of view - the new 40mm lens will offer a 9degx6deg field of view thereby increasing the viewing range of the camera and allowing more distant objects to be measured more accurately.

Now its built-in video output can be exploited with a battery powered video storage system that enables the capture and storage of up to two hours of full frame-rate live video in AVI format.
This feature means that events and systems can now be monitored and measured as they change with time.
For those users requiring even more live video storage a digital wireless communication system is available for the Mobir M4.
This belt-worn system allows easy transmission of live video signals to a base-station and being digital ensures no loss of data even at extended ranges.
