GRI (Genetic Research Instrumentation), an independent supplier of biotechnology products, will represent BioMicro Systems, (Salt Lake City, Utah) within the UK, France and Ireland.
GRI's teams of technical sales specialists will promote the BioMicro Systems unique range of Maui microarray hybridisation technologies.
BioMicro Systems designs and manufactures the proprietary Maui hybridisation system for both high-throughput and conventional microarray laboratories.
The Maui 12-bay hybridisation system is the latest addition to the Maui product line that includes the Maui four-bay hybridisation system and a complementary line of Maui mixer hybridisation chambers.
Through active mixing of ultra-low volume hybridisation reagents at a constant incubation temperature, use of the Maui hybridisation systems result in a significant increase in sensitivity (three to ten-fold) and greater consistency of results.
"BioMicro Systems is excited about working with GRI for the distribution of our products, especially the Maui 12-bay hybridisation system to target microarray users, and particularly cancer researchers, who require high-throughput, high-quality results," stated James Kuo, BioMicro Systems chairman and chief executive officer.
"Since the Maui four-bay system established BioMicro as a leader in increasing microarray sensitivity and consistency, we next wanted to improve throughput by allowing 12 slides now to be simultaneously processed.
"The breakthrough Maui 12-bay system is the workhorse many of our customers have been asking us for that can seamlessly and consistently produce superior microarray hybridisation results every time.
"We believe that in working with GRI to promote our products, we have the best possible partner with significant market knowledge and experience in customer care".
GRI Molecular Biology and GRI France will promote BioMicro's technology and product range with immediate effect within the UK, French and Irish biotechnology, pharmaceutical, diagnostic and research markets.
