For applications requiring a small, lightweight motor that still delivers a considerable amount of torque, the 3609X or Y may provide an answer, says Servotechnic.
Servotechnic, UK agent for Lin Engineering, introduces new, medium sized additions to its line of size 14 modular motors.
This step motor delivers high step accuracy and is designed to be placed in the most compact of customer supplied housings.
The 3609X measures 36mm in diameter, is a mere 14.7mm thick, weighs 90g and possesses a holding torque of up to 50mNm.
The 3609Y also measures 36mm in diameter, is 14 mm thick, weighs 80g and possesses a holding torque of 50mNm.
The windings are encapsulated in a thermally conductive ceramic based polymer which allows for quicker dissipation of heat.
Thus, allowing for more aggressive windings in the same small package.
The step accuracy of this stepper is +/-1.5 arc minutes compared to the industry average accuracy of +/-4.5 arc minutes.
This is why Lin Engineering's 0.9deg motor is considered to have the best microstepping accuracy in the industry.
Additionally, Lin Engineering can place the 3609X and Y in almost any customer supplied/designed housing imaginable.
Industries currently using this motor in their applications include medical, optical and surveillance.
