Biode and Vectron International will share and coordinate acoustic wave viscosity sensor design and technology expertise and will manufacture and deliver the Biode ViSmart suite of viscosity sensors
As part of the partnership, both Biode and Vectron will share sales channels and marketing activities, while focusing on bringing to market next generation viscosity sensors that are plug-and-play and embed additional functionality.
Also, Rick Hajec, president of Vectron, will join the Biode board of directors.
Kerem Durdag, CEO of Biode said, "Our partnership with Vectron enables the viscosity market to receive a leading-edge product designed and manufactured to world-class semiconductor quality and reliability standards, with a keen focus on product innovation and market satisfaction".
"We are now well-positioned to address global supply chain demands and application specific customization requests." Rick Hajec, president of Vectron International added, "We are excited to announce the partnership between Biode and Vectron".
"The SAW-based viscosity technology that Biode has developed opens up numerous interesting market opportunities".
"Combining Biode's technology and market insight with Vectron's SAW expertise, advanced packaging know-how and manufacturing capabilities, allow for a strong partnership".
"This partnership and its industrial market focus are core to Vectron's desire for healthy business diversification." Vectron International (VI) is a world leader in the design, manufacturing and marketing of frequency generation and frequency control products.
Vectron uses the latest technology in both crystal and surface acoustic wave (SAW) based designs from DC to microwave frequencies.
With facilities in the U.S., Europe, and China, the company manufactures products which fulfill critical functions in the telecommunications, data communications, wireless, military, satcom and multimedia markets in both consumer and industrial applications worldwide.
The agreement will enable Biode and Vectron to offer OEM-specific ViSmart solid-state viscometers which are designed to provide instantaneous, continuous, real-time, in-process relative viscosity measurements in a reliable cost-effective package weighing just 100g.
The ViSmart, designed for challenging embedded applications and sealed for complete immersion is unaffected by vibration or flow conditions and does not need field calibration.
The ViSmart integrates to the eCup handheld reader or the ViscNet control hub to provide a continuous audit trail for process monitoring markets.
