CLC bio announces that all its programs are Universal applications, and thereby supporting Apple's new Intel-based computers as from 16 March 2006
CLC bio's freeware program, CLC Free Workbench, is already available in a Universal version, which takes advantage of the speed of the new Intel-based Macs.
The program contains a number of bioinformatics analyses, gathered in an integrated and user-friendly software package.
It can be downloaded free of charge.
As from 16 March, the following programs will be Universal applications, hereby enabling significant performance increases on Apple's Intel-based computers:.
Protein Workbench, which provides a long range of advanced protein sequence analysis tools such as 3D viewing, protein structure prediction and pattern discovery.
Gene Workbench, which includes advanced DNA sequence analyses, including primer design, contig assembly and vector cloning tools.
Combined Workbench, which includes all tools available in CLC Protein Workbench and CLC Gene Workbench.
All three workbenches are available in fully functional demo versions, which can be downloaded from CLC bio's website as from 16 March 2006.
Thomas Knudsen, CEO of CLC bio, states: "CLC bio is a young, innovative and agile company".
"The very fast adaptation of all our products to Apple's new Intel-based computers underlines our strong commitment in supporting Apple's products now and in the future."
