Kistler has taken over the German torque sensor and force-displacement system specialist, Dr Staiger Mohilo and Co based in Lorch near Stuttgart
Staiger Mohilo was established in 1945 and is a market leader in torque sensor technology with more than 80 employees developing and producing high quality force-displacement measuring systems, torque and force sensors, and complete test stands for electric motors.
These products allow quality assurance as an integral part of an automated assembly process.
In the past, Staiger Mohilo has marketed its products mainly in Germany and Kistler's international distribution network, comprising 15 group owned sales companies, will open up new sales opportunities in over 30 countries.
For Kistler, the takeover means expansion of its range of torque sensors.
Although mainly for industrial applications, Staiger Mohilo sensors are increasingly being used in electric motors and hybrid engines.
In addition, the acquisition will provide Kistler with additional expertise to further enhance its own capability in strain gage technology.
