Micromech has announced its appointment by Siemens Automation and Drives motion division, as the southern area specialist distributor for their servomotors, drives and controls.
This is part of a major strategy by Siemens across many of its products to bring additional support into various technology areas where a high level of specialist technical expertise is required.
The appointment coincides with the launch of the S120AC range of modular servo drives aimed at single or multi axis, motion control applications.
The range is expected to find many new applications for existing Siemens users especially as they also incorporate the advanced Profinet, Profibus and DRIVE-CLiQ interfaces.
This makes the S120AC range a highly flexible package for driving asynchronous, synchronous, linear and torque motors.
Stirling Morley, Technical Director for Micromech, said "this appointment is an important development for us and we are extremely pleased to be in on the ground floor of Siemens expansion in the motion and control market".
