Aperio Technologies, a provider of digital pathology systems to the healthcare IT industry, announces a conference on Digital Pathology Solutions to be held in Leeds, UK, 7-8 November 2006
The theme of the meeting is 'Empowering pathology with better information'.
Due to the significant growth and interest in digital pathology, the conference is designed for academic and practicing pathologists, researchers, laboratory administrators, pathology technologists, and healthcare administrators who need to understand the impact and integration requirements of managing pathology information in a digital environment.
An international array of speakers will assemble to share their experiences.
The agenda will include product sessions, industry topics and provocative customer presentations.
The inaugural meeting for virtual microscopy leaders from the European community was held in 2005 at the University of Zurich, Switzerland.
"Virtual microscopy is the enabling driver for digital pathology, a digital environment for the management and interpretation of pathology information that originates with a digital slide.
"We've tailored Pathology Visions to be a gathering place for thought leaders to network and share how they are adopting digital pathology and virtual microscopy into their organizations.
"These meetings help shape and drive advances in this exciting field," said Dirk Soenksen, CEO of Aperio.
"The attendance of the 2005 meetings exceeded our expectations, underscoring Aperio's emerging leadership position in the field of digital pathology.
"We are looking forward to seeing an even bigger audience this year."
