The entire contents of one of the UK's premier metrology facilities, the South Yorkshire Trading Standards Unit (SYTSU), are being offered for sale following the closure of the business
The South Yorkshire Trading Standards Unit (SYTSU) was an internationally recognised metrology facility, uncompromisingly equipped with world leading equipment, working to national levels of accuracy.
Outside of a handful of national laboratories around the world, few are as comprehensively equipped as SYTSU.
The facility houses over 50 Mettler Toledo automatic and manual comparators - from 1ug to 1000kg.
Dimensional metrology is serviced by Mahr, Tesa and Werth instrumentation.
Other departments encompass volume, pressure, thermometry and hydrometry plus the unit has a high specification weighbridge test vehicle together with mobile petroleum testing and MOT facilities.
A sale of this significance is unprecedented and as knowledge of the disposal has dissipated around the industry the agents handling the sale, Walker Singleton (Asset Management) has already received several serious expressions of interest in equipment.
Howard Eastwood of Walker Singleton says that "At SYTSU the science of metrology was taken to its zenith and the facility is a showroom of the very best instrumentation and equipment available in the world today".
The format of sale is one of Tender Sale and all interest is directed to the dedicated website where expansive interactive and downloadable information is available.
