Molecular Devices has launched the ImageXpress Micro 4 High-Content Imaging System and 3D image analysis capability on the latest version of its MetaXpress High-Content Image Acquisition and Analysis Software.
The system is designed to provide a premiere, integrated and scalable toolset optimal 3D image acquisition and analysis whether a scientist is conducting basic research or high-throughput screening.
Grischa Chandy, senior product manager at Molecular Devices, said: “The research community has an increasing interest in products that use 3D cellular models such as spheroids, tissues and organisms to improve biologic relevance. Unfortunately, poorly integrated tools and software analysis programs have created a significant barrier to developing assays and obtaining fast, automated readouts.
"With the new ImageXpress system and MetaXpress 3D software toolkit our customers can directly access a smooth and integrated workflow, eliminating the need for third-party tools and time-consuming bottlenecks for acquisition and analysis of complex 3D datasets.”
ImageXpress Micro 4 is the latest addition to Molecular Devices’ ImageXpress System portfolio.
Its modular configuration allows researchers to customise the system to fit individual needs, including the ability to add confocal capability with the AgileOptix spinning disc confocal module, without disruption to existing workflows.
“We continue to invest in advancing protein and cell biology research, putting innovative tools in the hands of scientists and breaking down barriers to new discoveries,” said Greg Milosevich, president at Molecular Devices.
“Following on the launch of our confocal imaging instrument late last year, we are committed to building on the strong foundation of proven, reliable and agile high-content imaging solutions in our ImageXpress portfolio.”
