Astell’s water-saving recirculation option for benchtop and compact sterilisers up to 63 litres has been renamed Ecofill.
The feature, which has been available on small capacity autoclaves for years, can be specified on the 63 litre top loading ‘Compact’ range and on all three sizes of front loading ‘Benchtop’ units - available in 33, 43 and 63 litre capacities.
Ecofill front and top loading autoclaves require no service connections - simply plug the unit in to a single phase power supply and fill the integral water reservoir. This allows flexibility in positioning and servicing the autoclave, with the floo- standing Compact model also fitted with castor wheels as standard.
A full Ecofill tank provides water for up to 15 sterilisation cycles by recycling the water that is automatically returned from the chamber at the end of every cycle. It also acts as a collection vessel for condensate during normal operation, thereby avoiding steam and noise escaping into the lab during air-purge ‘free steaming’.
Astell’s (PED 2014/68/EU) pressure vessel design is angled-up on Benchtop machine so that a minimum quantity of water is needed for each load. This ensures low power consumption along with very quick heating and cooling - reducing cycle times.
