Pioneering landmark developments and witnessing countless advancements, Astell is celebrating 140 years of autoclave manufacture.
Founded in 1884, the company welcomed the 20th century with the development of electrically powered autoclaves and had introduced the Swiftlock closing mechanism and digitally controlled autoclaves by the century’s end.
Continuing to push advancement in the 21st century, hardware and software developments have led to greater functionality, recording capability, and wider system integration. Each autoclave in the Astell range features the digital control system with intuitive touchscreen interface. This enables easy modification functions and activities, for greater user control and adaptability.
Another development was the emergence and expansion of Astell’s sister operation, Thermal Effluent Decontamination System Company AstellBio. Leveraging the techniques perfected by Astell, AstellBio produces systems for wastewater sterilisation. Beginning with the development of Effluent Decontamination Systems capable of sterilising thousands of litres of wastewater simultaneously, the company has recently introduced smaller liquid waste autoclaves which can be installed directly at the site of wastewater generation.
Over 140 years of continual development, Astell has strived to solve complex sterilisation challenges across industries and the globe. It uses the knowledge gained from each to build understanding which can be used to solve even the most complex sterilisation requirements. If you need to steam sterilise something, Astell has likely autoclaved it before. More information online.
