A ready-to-use sample preparation kit developed by Precision BioLogic to determine and quantify the presence of functional Factor VIII inhibitors is now available in the UK exclusively from Alpha Laboratories.
The CRYOcheck Factor VIII Inhibitor kit offers standardised components and a validated protocol to deliver excellent repeatability and reproducibility for reduced intra and inter-laboratory variation. Additional inhibitor positive and negative controls are included for confidence in the results. Components are ready to use after thawing in a water bath for a few minutes!
Incorporating modifications recommended by the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, the kit includes a pre-analytical heat treatment step to inactivate endogenous Factor VIII. Bovine Serum Albumin has been validated as a practical alternative to Factor VIII deficient plasma. This improves stability and reduces inter-laboratory variation from different sources of Factor VIII deficient plasma.
