The TWISTER from IKA England reduces the number of electronic devices and space required in the lab, converting from a magnetic stirrer to a vortex shaker.
By interconnection, the single-position magnetic stirrer can be turned into a multi-position magnetic stirrer with up to 30 stirring positions, which can be combined in any desired pattern. One plate can be configured as the leader which all others follower, or a different job can be assigned to each plate.
With the TW.IX multi-position attachment, the stirring force can be translated from one to nine small stirring positions. – making it possible to stir even the smallest quantities thoroughly with a magnetic stirrer.
Perhaps the biggest benefit is that using the TW.VX shaking attachment, TWISTER becomes a vortex shaker. And with the STICKMAX II adhesive mat, it can shake larger volumes at a slow speed.
A 360° LED circle display shows all information intuitively without any alpha-numeric display. In addition, the instrument has an integrated beaker recognition system which starts the stirring process as soon as a beaker is set up. In one-hand operation, TWISTER doesn’t require a start button and will only run while the vessel or attachment is touched by hand.
TWISTER has a universal and extra strong drive, mixing liquids with up to 500 mPas at up to 3000 revolutions. It is optimally protected with IP 66 protection and can easily be cleaned under running water. Operation in incubators up to 40 °C is also possible.
