INTEGRA Biosciences has expanded the availability of its MAGFLO™ NGS magnetic beads, giving more laboratories across Europe and North America access to an efficient solution for nucleic acid purification, PCR clean-up and next generation sequencing (NGS) size selection. Designed to deliver reliable and reproducible results, the beads offer laboratories a practical and cost-effective alternative for routine sequencing workflows.
Quality control verified for both single-sided and double-sided size selection, MAGFLO NGS magnetic beads help laboratories achieve consistent DNA and RNA fragment distributions prior to sequencing. The room temperature stable, RNase-free formulation simplifies storage and handling while providing compatibility with established size selection protocols that traditionally rely on industry-standard magnetic beads.
The technology supports double-sided size selection across fragment sizes from approximately 100 to 1,000 base pairs, while also accommodating long DNA fragments and genomic DNA used in long-read sequencing applications. This versatility makes the beads suitable for a wide range of sample types, including fragmented DNA, RNA, cDNA and PCR products.
For laboratories looking to improve throughput, MAGFLO NGS magnetic beads can be incorporated into automated and semi-automated liquid handling workflows. They are fully compatible with the INTEGRA ASSIST PLUS pipetting robot equipped with MAG or HEATMAG modules, as well as VIAFLO 96 and VIAFLO 384 electronic handheld pipettes. Automation helps reduce repetitive manual pipetting, improves workflow consistency and enables higher sample processing capacity.
Independent performance validation demonstrated that the beads deliver sequencing results comparable with widely used industry reference beads. During benchmarking in Illumina MiSeq amplicon sequencing workflows, MAGFLO NGS magnetic beads produced equivalent sequencing performance without introducing detectable bias into microbial diversity analyses.
MAGFLO NGS magnetic beads are currently available in Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.
