Hiden Isochema has launched the IGAsorp Ultra, a new Dynamic Vapor Sorption platform designed to provide greater flexibility for analysing water and organic vapor interactions across an expanded range of experimental conditions.
The latest addition to Hiden Isochema’s IGAsorp range, the new system combines water and organic vapor sorption capabilities with enhanced temperature control, automated operation and real-time vapor concentration monitoring.
IGAsorp Ultra is available with a choice of thermostat configurations, including a 5°C to 85°C option for applications requiring precise temperature control and programmable experimental conditions.
Central to the new platform is the company’s Next Generation Vapor Sorption Module. This incorporates dual vapor generators, external reservoirs for automatic generator refilling and an effective purging system, allowing researchers to undertake multi-vapor workflows with reduced manual intervention.
Real-time vapor concentration monitoring is provided through an organics sensor and absolute pressure sensor. These enable direct, traceable measurements of organic vapor partial pressures, helping users confirm that programmed conditions have been achieved and remain stable throughout an experiment.
The system also incorporates Hiden Isochema’s established microbalance technology with an independent thermostat. Low drift and high mass resolution are designed to enable subtle sorption events and changes in sample mass to be measured accurately.
According to Hiden Isochema, ease of use was another priority during development. Sample loading and method setup have been simplified, while automated operation allows complex experimental workflows to be performed without continual user intervention.
The IGAsorp Ultra has been developed for research across a range of sectors where understanding moisture and organic vapor interactions is important. Potential applications include pharmaceuticals, polymers and porous materials, as well as broader materials research and development.
The launch follows the introduction of the IGAsorp Core, the company’s entry-level DVS system, and further expands Hiden Isochema’s range of gravimetric sorption instrumentation.
