New refrigerated centrifuge combines high-speed performance, capacities up to 6 L, extensive rotor compatibility and CO₂-based cooling for demanding laboratory workflows.
Eppendorf has expanded its centrifuge portfolio with the launch of the SpinPro® 8 R, a refrigerated, floor-standing high-speed centrifuge designed for demanding, high-volume laboratory applications.
The successor to the Centrifuge CR22N, the SpinPro 8 R is the first new floor-standing centrifuge developed since himac joined the Eppendorf Group. It combines himac’s centrifugation expertise with Eppendorf technology, providing laboratories with high-speed performance, flexible rotor options and modern digital functionality.
Designed for biotechnology, pharmaceutical and high-capacity academic research laboratories, the centrifuge supports applications including cell harvesting, large-volume processing and separation of temperature-sensitive samples.
With capacities of up to 4 × 1.5 L or 6 × 1 L, the SpinPro 8 R accommodates changing vessel formats and workflows. It is compatible with more than 30 existing CR22N rotors, while two new rotor options further extend its capabilities.
The refrigerated system uses CO?-based R744 cooling, offering a Global Warming Potential of 1 and Ozone Depletion Potential of 0. Temperature control from -20°C to 40°C helps protect sensitive samples while supporting laboratories seeking more sustainable refrigeration technologies.
A new 7-inch touchscreen interface, 13 onboard languages, programmable favourites and user management simplify operation in shared laboratory environments. AuditSafe Mode and traceable run records also support documentation requirements for regulated workflows, including features designed to support 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.

The SpinPro 8 R will be available for purchase from the end of September 2026, with a live launch webinar scheduled for 1 October.
